Customizing the widget
Everything about how the widget looks and behaves is controlled from the Customize tab. Changes build a draft; click Save changes and they go live for visitors immediately, no redeploy.
Appearance #
- Style: the switch design. There are six built-in looks; see Switch styles.
- Accent color: the "on" color, used for the track, spark, and popup heading. Light colors automatically get dark ("ink") text for contrast.
- Label: optional text beside the switch (e.g. "Explain"). Leave it blank for a compact control.
- Spark icon: show or hide the little spark mark.
- Size: small, medium, or large.
- Corner: which corner of the screen the button sits in.
The explanation popup #
- Theme: dark or light ("paper").
- Width and corner radius: tune the popup's footprint.
- Branding: toggle the small "Explained with Plotap" line.
AI behavior #
- Tone: how explanations read (e.g. "friendly and concise", "formal", "playful").
- Language: the response language.
automatches the language of the selected text.
Explanations are intentionally in-depth: each one opens with a plain-language definition, then adds detail: how it works, why it matters, and an example when it helps.
